Singin’ in the Rain

We experienced our first crazy rains here in Bangkok. The videos don’t do it justice, the thunder was the loudest I’ve ever heard. This was our view from our hotel at 4pm:

I checked the weather to make sure we weren’t under any kind of weather alert:

Ummm “drizzle”? Mmmkay. 

There are apparently only 2 seasons here:

It only lasted a couple hours and then we were back out exploring! 

Today we are leaving Bangkok and off to the island of Koh Chang ⛴️🏝️ Stay tuned. 

 

Bangkok be crazy.

We made it to Bangkok and have been staying in a great area - not super touristy, just how we like it. I’ve been reminded of some of my favourite things about Thailand:

Pork Buns and Street Meat 😋 

Beautiful Temples

Crazy Streets (and power lines 😂)

And Rooftop Pools (necessary for cooling off) 

Tokyo 🇯🇵

Today our feet took us on a huge walk around Tokyo…not because we planned to be in Japan but because fate decided it! We were delayed and missed our connection to Thailand yesterday. But it is what it is, and we will happily take 24 hours in one of our favourite countries. 

Highlights included Koi ponds, pagodas….and huntsman spiders and murder hornets.  🕷️🐝 😬

Our Adventure

Here’s a very rough plan of our route over the next 3 months. The majority of our time will be in Thailand and Vietnam, with stopovers in Cambodia and Laos. For anyone that wants to follow us along on this journey, we will try to share with you all the sights we see.
